Japanese Fighting Beetle *pattern available now*

I finally went through and edited my pattern after some people tested it out. I also successfully figured out how to post a pattern on Ravelry!! I hope to get a few followers and hopefully design more things that I can try selling. If you are on Ravelry you can check out my pattern here: Japanese Fighting Beetle Pattern

So, my efforts to sell knitted things for Japan hasn't worked exactly as planned. None of the things that I made have sold but I have had a couple people contact me to make some special orders. I'm currently working on some washcloths for a friend's baby (and one for her 2 year old son). I'm so thankful for pattern creators who allow people to sell things knitted from their patterns! So far I've finished 2 of 4 washcloths for her:

I'm really enjoying knitting up washcloths. It's fun to see the design come out with each row finished. I have 2 more to finish up for her...hopefully they'll be done before her baby is due!

Japanese Fighting Beetle

This month in the Designers Challenge group the challenge was to create a toy that is either undersized or oversized and use some sort of stripes. I wanted to make something related to Japan and was inspired by a popular pet with boys here: beetles. I decided to make it oversized (though I think I could have made it a bit bigger because it's only a little bigger than my hand). I am going to have the pattern tested than I'll offer it on Ravelry for free. I'll post the link here once I have the pattern up.

I'll post some pictures here until then :)

*Edited to add link to pattern
